Mensch vs. Maschine (Man vs. Machine)

from Ich Verstehen (Original Score for Stoic Rhythms) by Broken Tiny

/
  • DVD + Digital Album

In 2003, I was fortunate to travel to Europe and undertake an 8 week long research trip. It took in England, Czech Republic, but ostensibly Germany where I researched both German Expressionist cinema and what is known as 'Krautrock', both cultural elements that had informed my own practice and continue to do so.
This documentary is a result of a fan's journey through the country that spawned the music, speaking to some of the protagonists, collaborators and fellow fans there and in the UK and Czech Republic. 2018 is the 15 anniversary of that trip and to mark that occasion I present this document on DVD in all it's naive glory! It is made available for free, essentially you are paying for postage and handling from Australia. Note, upon purchase through Bandcamp, you will receive the option to download the score by Broken Tiny.

Featuring interviews with Alan Freeman, Mark Spybey, Harris Johns, Damo Suzuki, Jaki Liebezeit, Dominik Von Senger, Olve Strelow & Renate Knaup, with music from Amon Düül II, Faust, GAM, Phantomband, Dead Voices On Air, Damo Suzuki Network and more. Score by Broken Tiny.

Feature Duration: 90 mins. SD 4:3 PAL, Region 0

This disc will be made to order as a DVD-R.
    Within Australia: $3 handling + $5 postage.
    International: $3 handling + $10 postage.

I would like to dedicate this edition of the documentary to the memory of
Jaki Liebezeit (1938 - 2017), who was very generous with his time and his humour and over the years produced some incredible stoic rhythms.
